Media blasting (Sand blasting or Abrasive blasting) is the
operation of forcibly propelling a stream of abrasive material against a
surface under high pressure to smooth a rough surface, roughen a
smooth surface, shape a surface, or remove surface contaminants. A pressurized
fluid, typically air, or a centrifugal wheel is used to propel the media.
Our mediablasting booth measures 12ft x 12ft x 35ft. This
size allows Contagious to fit a lot of projects in the booth at one time, so
that means our customers don't have to wait in line. Also, it allows us to take
in large items like entire car/truck frames without issue. We can use various
media to blast but recycled glass bottles are primarily used. Our charge for
mediablasting starts at $75/hour. Unfortunately we're unable to do this
remotely, so all mediablasting is done in-house.
